MAD Brussels invited 19 Brussels-based communication and visual designers to take part of the exhibition “VIEWS — a visual dialogue about the canal zone”. We took over the MAD Dansaert building during the entire month of September 2019.

For this commissioned project in collaboration with María Menéndez Gonzáles, we decided to represent the canal through data visualisation. We would have liked to have been able to give you a quantified and precise report, but strangely enough, we couldn’t find any data on the wearing of socksin Brussels. So we gathered information during walks on both banks of the canal. After our frantic research, we came to an undeniable conclusion: the sock has no borders.

The map has been installed on windows with stickers and everyone was invited to add details with a white paint pen. The project was called “Subjective and collaborative socks’ cartography”.
