This project has been completed in 3 days only, during a Museomix workshop.

Museomix is an international event which seeks to blend creativity, innovation and museum culture. Organised in a 3-day creative marathon, the event took place in the MSK Gent and brought together teams working on prototypes for museum mediation – in other words, interactive tools aimed at enriching visitors’ experience.

You’ll find below the description of the app we imagined with our team — featuring a facilitator, a coding specialist, a handyman, a cultural mediator, a content manager, a communicator and myself, as graphic designer. I designed the logo, inspired by the map of the MSK museum, the app’s visuals for the prototype and an explanatory flyer.

Wanderland is a new approach to a traditional museum visit. In here, you don’t need to be an expert to appreciate the collection — you can just explore what you find the most interesting without getting caught up in the hype of big names. By taking photos using the app, you will be able not only to learn more information about the artwork you are interested in but also to unlock the museum map, room by room. At the end of your visit, you have a completely personalised map of your favorite pieces from the collection to take home with you.  Next time you come to visit us, you can not only visit your favorite paintings again, but also pick up where you left off.

The prototype was tested by visitors between the 8th and the 10th of November 2015.
